InvoiceOwl is a business management platform that helps tradespeople and service businesses manage their invoicing, quotes, and payments. We offer optional SMS text message notifications to keep you informed about important updates related to your business transactions.

SMS text messages are entirely optional. By voluntarily providing your phone number and actively opting in to receive text messages from InvoiceOwl, you consent to receive SMS text messages from us. You are never required to opt in, and you can use all InvoiceOwl services without SMS notifications.

Message Frequency (For Opted-In Users)

If you choose to opt in, the number of text messages you receive depends on your transaction activity with businesses using InvoiceOwl. Typical message frequency includes:

Invoice notifications: As invoices are created (varies by your service provider)
Payment reminders: Up to 3 reminders per invoice if payment is not received
Payment confirmations: 1 message per successful payment
Quote notifications: As quotes are sent to you

On average, opted-in users can expect to receive between 1-10 text messages per month, depending on their level of activity.

📋 Our Messages Are Transactional, Not Marketing

InvoiceOwl sends transactional messages only—notifications directly related to your invoices, payments, quotes, and business transactions. We do not send promotional, marketing, or advertising messages. You will never receive sales offers, discounts, or promotional content via SMS from InvoiceOwl.

SMS Text Messages Are Completely Optional

⚠️ Important: Consent Is Not Required

Your consent to receive SMS text messages is NOT required as a condition of using InvoiceOwl or receiving services from any business that uses InvoiceOwl.

You can use all InvoiceOwl features without opting in to text messages. If you choose not to receive text messages, you will receive all notifications via email instead. There is no penalty or reduced service for declining SMS notifications.

How to Opt In (If You Choose To)

Opting in to SMS text messages is a separate, optional action that you can take at any time. You may opt in through any of the following methods:

Optional Checkbox: By voluntarily checking the SMS consent checkbox (which is unchecked by default) when providing your contact information.
Text Message: By texting "START" or "YES" to our messaging number.
Account Settings: By enabling SMS notifications in your notification preferences after creating an account.

You can opt in or opt out at any time without affecting your ability to use InvoiceOwl services or receive services from businesses using InvoiceOwl.

After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message. You will not receive any additional text messages unless you opt in again.

Costs and Carrier Information

Message and data rates may apply. The cost of text messages depends on your mobile carrier and your phone plan. InvoiceOwl does not charge any fees for sending text messages, but your carrier may charge you standard messaging rates.

Text messages are sent via standard SMS. Supported carriers include, but are not limited to: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and most regional carriers.

Privacy and Data Protection

Your phone number and messaging data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Key points:

We will not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your phone number is used solely for sending transaction-related notifications through InvoiceOwl.

You can request deletion of your phone number from our system at any time.
